SSL or TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content that you send to us as site operator, our website uses SSL or TLS encryption. Server log files

In server log files, the provider of the website automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

There is no merging of this data with other data sources. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. b DSGVO, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

Google Analytics

Our website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider of the web analytics service is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses “cookies.” These are small text files that your web browser stores on your terminal device and enable an analysis of website usage. Information generated by means of cookies about your use of our website is transmitted to a Google server and stored there. The server is usually located in the USA.

The setting of Google Analytics cookies is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize our website and, if necessary, advertising.

Matomo Analytics

Our website uses functions of the web analytics service Matomo Analytics. The provider of the web analytics service is Matomo, 7 Waterloo Quay, Pipitea, Wellington, New Zealand.

Matomo Analytics uses “cookies.” These are small text files that your web browser stores on your terminal device and enable an analysis of website usage. Information generated by means of cookies about your use of our website is transmitted to a Matomo server and stored there. The server is located in the European Union.

The setting of Matomo Analytics cookies is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize our website and, if necessary, advertising.

IP anonymization

We use Google and Matomo Analytics in conjunction with the IP anonymization function.

It ensures that Google shortens your IP address within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission to the USA. There may be exceptional cases in which Google transfers the full IP address to a server in the USA and shortens it there. On our behalf, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

For Matomo, it is also guaranteed that the IP address is shortened before transmission to the server within the EU.

Objection to data collection

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google and Matomo Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set that will prevent the collection of your data during future visits to our website: Disable Google and Matomo Analytics.

For details on how Google Analytics handles user data, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/.

Browser Plugin

The setting of cookies by your web browser can be prevented. However, some functions of our website may be restricted as a result. Likewise, you can prevent the collection of data relating to your website usage, including your IP address, together with subsequent processing by Google. This is possible by downloading and installing the browser plugin accessible via the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hlde.

Order processing

In order to fully comply with the legal data protection requirements, we have concluded a data processing agreement with Google.

Demographic characteristics with Google Analytics

Our website uses the “demographic characteristics” function of Google Analytics. It can be used to create reports that contain statements about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google as well as visitor data from third-party providers. It is not possible to assign the data to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time. This is possible via the ad settings in your Google account or by generally prohibiting the collection of your data by Google Analytics, as explained in the item “Objection to data collection”.

Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

Our website uses Google AdWords. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States.

AdWords is an online advertising program. As part of the online advertising program, we work with conversion tracking. After a click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that your web browser stores on your terminal device. Google AdWords cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. From the cookie, Google and we can recognize that you clicked on an ad and were redirected to our website.

Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies are not traceable through websites of AdWords customers. Conversion cookies are used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who use conversion tracking. AdWords customers learn how many users clicked on their ad and were redirected to pages with conversion tracking tag. However, AdWords customers do not receive any information that allows personal identification of users. If you do not want to participate in tracking, you can object to its use. In this case, the conversion cookie must be deactivated in the user settings of the browser. In this way, there will also be no inclusion in the conversion tracking statistics.

The storage of “conversion cookies” is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO. As the website operator, we have a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize our website and our advertising.

Details on Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

With a modern web browser, you can monitor, restrict or disable the setting of cookies. Disabling cookies may result in limited functionality of our website.

Dealfront

Our website uses Dealfront technologies (Dealfront Finland Oy as part of Dealfront Group GmbH, Durlacher Allee 73, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany) to analyze visitor behavior. In this process, the IP address of visitors is processed. The IP address is processed to help us understand which companies (B2B) visit our website. As part of the processing, the IP address is enriched with related information such as the company name or industry code. For this purpose, at the beginning of the session, the IP address of the website visitor and the corresponding session data are compared with an extensive whitelist of known companies.

We offer a newsletter to inform you about current developments. We only send our newsletter with your express consent.

To subscribe to our newsletter, it is necessary to provide your e-mail address; the other voluntary information (first name, last name, company) is used to personalize the newsletter. By completing the registration, you give your consent to receive the newsletter, which can be revoked at any time.

We use the so-called double-opt-in procedure for newsletter registration. This means that after you have provided your e-mail address, we will send you a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail address you have provided, in which we ask you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm this, your registration will be automatically deleted after a maximum of six months. If you confirm receipt of the newsletter, we will store your e-mail address until you unsubscribe. The storage serves the sole purpose of being able to send you the newsletter. Furthermore, we store your IP addresses and the time of sending the first e-mail each time you register and confirm, in order to prevent misuse of your personal data. You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time either via the unsubscribe link provided in the e-mail or directly by e-mail to hello@factorial.io with the subject “newsletter unsubscribe”.

Newsletter communication with Mautic

We use the open source marketing automation software Mautic to manage and distribute our newsletter. This involves processing personal data such as your email address and, if applicable, your name in order to send you relevant information and offers. Mautic also enables us to analyze the behavior of recipients after the newsletter has been sent (e.g., open rates, click behavior). This information helps us to optimize our communication and better tailor it to your interests.

The processing is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future, e.g. via the unsubscribe link in each newsletter. We operate Mautic on our own servers or in a European data center, so no data is passed on to third parties. There is no transfer to third countries.

The legal basis of the processing for the newsletter dispatch is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) DSGVO.

Embedded Youtube Videos

We embed YouTube videos into some of our web pages. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (hereinafter “YouTube”).

When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. This allows YouTube to see which pages you visit. If you are logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand. If a YouTube video is played, the provider uses cookies to gather information on user behaviour.

You can find further information regarding the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by YouTube in the provider’s privacy policies. These also include further information regarding your rights in this respect and settings options for protecting your privacy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

The display and data collection by Youtube is restricted to your given consent. A given consent provides legal basis for the integration of YouTube and includes the associated transfer of data to Google as Youtube is a product of Google. (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). A connection to Google is automatically established when YouTube is accessed.

If you have deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program, you will not have to deal with these types of cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you need to block the storing of cookies in your browser. You can find further information about data protection on “YouTube” in the provider’s privacy policy, available at Datenschutzerklärung – Datenschutzerklärung & Nutzungsbedingungen – Google

After completion of the application process, your data will be deleted after six months at the latest, unless you have consented to us keeping your data and informing you about suitable job offers in the future. (Art. 6 (1) lit. a DS-GVO).
